Lanikai Elementary
School
A public elementary school in
Kailua, Hawaii which supports a larger Lanikai Learning Community by
emphasizing "Excellence in Your Neighborhood." Founded in
1963, the school has an enrollment of about 320 students. In concert
with Emergent Education Hawaii, Lanikai School is in the process of
reinventing itself using the principles of continuous quality
improvement. Lanikai School is a Hawaii New Century Charter School.
The Hamakua Marsh Project
the collaboration of 350 students
from three schools
in the windward community, including Lanikai Elementary. Topic areas were divided by interest and age level for each classroom to
research, report and finally to link to one another to create a virtual wetland.
Wiki Waki Woo Serenaders
Authors of the famous "Lanikai
Blues," Auntie Oxidant's favorite song! Performing the original style of Hawaiian music which used Steel Guitar as its trademark,
Wiki Waki Woo made a smash appearance at the Lanikai Mortage Player's
Annual theater spectacle.
