I just visited your site.

As is common with people with a lack moral integrity, you have posted said picture without approval.

Whatever it is worth, you do NOT have my permission. The reasons are :

1 -You have not posted ALL the exchange, especialy the E-mails that do not project a good light on you. All the last E-mails are missing.

2- You do not post in English, nor in German, that the French court rejected your points, that you lost your fight. The danger thus is that other yachtsmen may follow your stupid steps and have their cruise end in disaster, like yours. And as usualy such long cruises implicate years of preparations, it is criminal to make them believe you are "right".

3 - Typical of your malicious behavior, you put forward my supposed "pride" of german nobility. One sentence out of a thousand. I only mentionned it to prove you that, alas, I am only too aware of certain sad aspects of German mentality, all of which, alas, your behavior confirms. Not being born in Germany, never having had that nationality and not having a very high opinion of some of it's citizens as I had to put up 4 years with their "spiessbuerger" mentality, I thus strongly object being called "Herr du Prel" which for me has a negative strain.

4- Your text on Marlon Brando is just one exemple of the pure hogwash your sick minds full of hate vomit. You have absolutely no information, but absolutely none, on the reality concerning Tetiaroa, on the man nor on the difficulties Tetiaroa has. Know only that the property titles of the island are in the name of his Tahitian family, that he never recieved any help from the French nor local authorities, quite to the contrary. But of
course, you, who never have been in Tahiti nor on Tetiaroa, know it all so much better.

5- All your acts in this affair only expose one sad picture : Full of a enigmatic sense of superiority but with a profound hate of everything that is succesfull or outstanding, you only pleasure is to try to dirty, destroy everything that outstands you, disagrees with you. How lonely life sometimes must be. Yes, pollution has hit the Pacific.

For your information, here are the (only) 2 e-mails I have recieved
concerning your site :

Open Reply to the Director and Chief Editor of TAHITI-PACIFIQUE, Herrn Alex du Prel
from Erika and Achim Ginsberg-Klemmt, SY Pangaea

E-Mail : gopangaea@cs.com

Hi Alex,

So you don't want us to call you "Herr" du Prel on our Website anymore and you also want us to take your beautiful picture off! OK, we will put a black bar over your eyes in the next version. Is it possible you don't want people to see that you are a blond POPA and that you look like any other German sausage stand owner? (Please see your sausage stand owner comments of November 23, 1998, in your letter to us, "Cool Down.") You don't want people to look in your pretty German eyes, huh? At least President Flosse has the courage to show his face.

I had fun asking the Marquesan people , Tahitians and Frenchy's we met during our five "illegal" months in French Polynesia what "Flosse" means . Nobody knew and they were all very surprised to hear that a "purutia" (German) like me understood that it means "Nageoire". His father didn't strand with a U-Boot in Mangaeva, did he?

Sorry if we accidently and unintentionally forgot one of your E-mail's. We are a little understaffed in our office, so bear with us. Please send us the missing letter and tell us precisely where to post it. Everybody can sign the guestbook on our website and we value if people have the courage to openly disagree with us and keep their opinions posted. Please feel also free to translate the judgment or any other document that you feel is missing into German and English. It is not translated yet because we are a little lazy and rebels like us don't get payed either.

On the other hand we were surprised to see, that your "liberal and critical" www.tahiti-pacifique.com website does not have a guestbook and also does not mention ANY of our interesting dialog. Freedom of speech in "la gauche caviar" style?

You are a coward Alex.

Let me know if you encounter any problems with the download of our website if you want to study the details off line.
You would need WINZIP to decompress the archive.

Sincerely,
Achim Klemmt

Erika has something to say to you too :

HEY THERE, FRAIDY CAT!! OBVIOUSLY STILL TOO SCARED TO PUT IN A LINK ON *YOUR WEBSITE?* STILL PRETENDING LIKE "NO ONE WOULD BE INTERESTED?" SO WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO HIDE? Mr. "oh-poor me, I've been censored" now wants to do the censoring HIMSELF!?

A: Too cowardly to show your face on our website
B: whether you value our points or not, it is mighty surprising that you, Mr."Progressive open forum free thinker", would not then support the freedom of speech in French Polynesia

>1 -You have not posted ALL the exchange, especialy the E-mails that do not

You asked for it, you've got it. I found 4 emails since Achim's letter to you "Better than Vegas!" of November 28th (which, by the way, you never responded to) and ask you to please inform me if any of the so called bad light emails are missing. I would be absolutely GLAD to post them. If you do not have a copy I will try and find them. By the way, why haven't YOU posted ANY of our exchange on YOUR website, or in your magazine? Or are you going to continue by saying, "it's not interesting or important?" Why don't you let your readers be the judge of that? Scared of losing your throne?

Our cruise did not at all end in disaster, what makes you say that? We could have stayed and defied your racist laws and had our baby in Nuku Hiva under the guidance of your friends Alain and Odile. Even the Gendarmerie officers were very nice there. It was our choice to leave a place that did not give us permission to stay and sailed up to Hawaii instead. I don't force anyone to believe I am right: some people actually have brains and can decide things for themselves.

- GINSBERG-KLEMMT c/ ETAT FRANCAIS
- Tribunal Administratif de Papeete No. 99-36
We have not lost the fight at all, we have simply lost the first round in Papeete, which doesn't surprise me given the corruption in FP. On the 14th of July, we have requested the Cour Administrative d'appel de Paris to review the decision of judge Alfred Poupet in our case. You can study the details yourself on the website Alex. The European Commission in Brussels was very grateful to have this judgement in their hands. As you can see from the EC's letter, it serves as valuable document during the infringement procedure No. 99/4232, SG(99) A/1883/2 under Article 169 of the EC-Treaty.

Who ever looses this case, will loose it before the highest possible court with good press coverage, Alex.
Maybe French Polynesia will become independent much sooner than you ever hoped.

One sentence out of a thousand? You are supposed to be a JOURNALIST, dear Du Prel. No one forced you to expose your German heritage. This was the most ironic part of it all. You are a part of the clan of people from Germany, who settled on a remote island and now says, "nyaah, nyaah, I was here before YOU were, now get out, there's no room for you." It's your heritage, and it's a shame that you feel you have to hide it under a tahitian grass skirt. Come join the out of the closet Germans who don't need to pretend that they are somebody else!

Sound like you lost one of your main advertisers. Sorry, but Tahiti-Pacifique's original advertisement now has free exposure for Marlon Brando's "atoll privé" on our website . We would have gladly visited Tetiaroa and Tahiti (certainly to your dismay, since you seem to own it now) had we gotten permission. We will perhaps instead open our authentic german kebab stand on "your" beach in Moorea once we have our "Carte de Sejour".

I can't believe that Achim would have to spell the connection out for you between Marlon Brando and the rest, Alex. I'm sure Brando had plenty of difficulties, but none that a few million dollars couldn't solve. The fact is, the French authorities in Polynesia would rather give support to american multi millionaires, regardless of whether their taxes help pay for Polynesia or not, than follow the treaties that they have already signed with Europeans who pay e.g. 291 Million DM in taxes to build cruiseships for "poor" French Polynesia.

By the way, thank you for forwarding over 4 months later the very interesting and astute email that you received regarding our correspondence. Why did you take so long? E-mail can be a little quicker than 4 months, you know. Feel free to continue to forward such interesting and supportive commentary.

To all who have been inondated with E-mails (and hate-mails) from S.Y.
Pangea, <Gopangaea@cs.com>

Please allow a short comment on this regettable affair :

This episode is a perfect example of stupid stubbornness which brought to a sad ending what should have been the sailing cruise of a life-time.

Upon arrival in French Polynesia, instead of posting a bond on a savings account (with interest paid) that would have been returned to them upon leaving our islands, the Klemmps prefered to start a legal fight.
The true reason of their refusal to post bond soon became clear : they wanted actually to settle in F.P as is proven by their application for a permanent résidency permit.

After losing a proper and fair legal fight in French courts in Tahiti and thus being refused a visa extention, these people had to sail to Hawaii. There they certainly discovered that the US Immigration and Naturalisation Service are a much tougher, more severe bunch than the polite and relaxed
French gendarme in the Marquesan islands, that husband Achim cannot stay in the USA evenso he is married to a US citizen and has to return to beautiful Germany to apply for permanent residency in the USA.

Being the only ones responsible for the disastrous flop of their own long prepared cruise, but unable to accept this evidence, furious, they now have to blame others for it.

There is the explanation for the present E-mail and website hate and pure slander campaign against :

- France and the French High Commissionner in French Polynesia, Mr Jean Aribaud.
- Actor Marlon Brando (??? !),
- French Polynesian president Gaston Flosse,
- The gendarme in the Marquesas
- the European Commission in Brussel
- and myself, publisher of Tahiti-Pacifique Magazine, just because I told them back in november 1998 :

"Cool down. Just pay the caution but insist in putting it on a US dollar savings account that pays interest. Please don't try to have European laws applied here, it makes no sense. Didn't you sail all the way out here to escape germanistic law and order?"

What is sad, might even be considered criminal, is that they have not posted the truth concerning the futility of their action on their website <http://www.trans-ocean.org/tahiti-bond> and thus may induce other European
yachts to follow their steps, thereby also endangering their own cruises.

Thank you for reading these lines.

Greetings from the South Pacific. peaceful again.

Actually, Mr. DuPrel, it was the sailing cruise of a life-time, regardless. You have misunderstood the Klemmt's intentions, and their goals. Your pride is in the way of understanding.

Wrong. They CHOSE to sail to Hawaii because Erika became pregnant and ultimately wanted--for reasons you can appreciate--to have her baby on U.S.soil. Their choice to apply for residency in Tahiti was simply to demonstrate the fact that French Polynesia is not honoring EEC reciprocity agreements.

Also false; and besides, the U.S. is not part of the EEC, so this is irrelevant.

The cruise was, by no means, a flop. How myopic you are being.

Mr. DuPrel: I am so glad that you reproduced your early message to the Klemmts here. Do you not see your own arrogance? which certainly contributed to the escalation of upset and conflict. It started out as such a simple matter; the Klemmts wanted to challenge the validity of the bond you mention. That's all.
If I understand the situation, that bond is illegal under EEC treaties. All the rest of this is pure obfuscation and arrogance.

Are you saying that you do not want European yachts in Tahiti? What danger could they face, other than having to pay this illegal bond? Who is being hysterical now?

You're welcome.
